Frequently asked questions

Is the Safaricom reward real?

Yes — Safaricom is part of the live reward catalog in Kenya, and real players redeem it every day. We never ask you to pay to redeem.

How fast does the Safaricom reward arrive?

Rewards are delivered digitally after you redeem — most arrive within minutes, though some can take a little longer.

How much can I earn?

It depends on how much you play and how many reward boxes you open. Halo Mini doesn't promise fixed earnings — but playing is always free.

Do I have to pay or deposit anything?

No. Halo Mini is free to download, free to play and free to redeem. No purchase is ever required.

How do I get free Safaricom airtime?

On Halo Mini you play mini games and watch short video ads for points, then redeem Safaricom airtime in KES 10, 20, 50 or 100, with no purchase needed. Safaricom's own options are not free money: Okoa Jahazi on *131# is a loan with a 10% fee that comes off your next top-up, and Bonga Points on *126# come from what you spend on your line.

Are there Safaricom games to win airtime?

Safaricom runs time-limited promotions with draws, not a standing game. Its National Consumer Promotion, from 23 October 2025 to 19 January 2026, had daily cash or airtime prizes, and entries came from buying bundles and redeeming Bonga Points. Check safaricom.co.ke for what is running now. Safaricom says it does not ask customers to send airtime or money to award a prize.

How to get Safaricom airtime on Halo Mini

Halo Mini is a free rewards app. You play short mini games and watch short video ads to collect points. When you have enough, you can redeem Safaricom airtime in KES 10, 20, 50 or 100. No purchase or deposit is needed, and Halo Mini does not promise fixed earnings. Halo Mini is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Safaricom.

The airtime is sent straight to the phone number you enter when you redeem. There is no scratch card or PIN to load. In the 30 days to 25 September 2026, the median time from redeeming to delivery was under a minute.

Before you confirm, check the number digit by digit and make sure it is a Safaricom line, not Airtel. The airtime goes to whatever number you type.

Safaricom's own ways to get airtime without cash

Safaricom's main official ways to get airtime when you have no cash are Okoa Jahazi and Bonga Points. Neither one is free money. Okoa Jahazi is an airtime loan with a 10% fee, and it comes back out of your next top-up. Bonga Points are loyalty points you earn from what you already spend on your line.

Looking for Safaricom games to win airtime? Safaricom runs time-limited promotions with draws, not an everyday game. Its National Consumer Promotion ran from 23 October 2025 to 19 January 2026 and had daily cash or airtime prizes. Entries came from buying Safaricom bundles and products and from redeeming Bonga Points, so they were not free. Check safaricom.co.ke for what is running now.

  • Okoa Jahazi: dial *131# or use the My Safaricom App and pick an amount. Amounts run from Ksh 5 to Ksh 1,000, and the most you can borrow depends on how much airtime you have used before.
  • Okoa fee: Safaricom keeps 10% of each request, so you receive the amount less 10%. Borrow Ksh 50 and you get Ksh 45.
  • Okoa repayment: the loan is taken from your next top-up. Clear it within 120 hours (5 days). If you don't, you can't borrow again until it is paid, and Safaricom can recover it from your airtime, minutes or Bonga Points.
  • Safaricom's terms list top-ups from other people among the ways an Okoa loan is repaid, so airtime someone else sends you can go to the loan first.
  • New lines: Safaricom's Okoa FAQ says a line can use Okoa from its 15th day on the network.
  • Check what you owe with *144*4# or *131*0#.
  • Bonga Points: dial *126# to join, check your points and redeem. You earn 1 point for every Ksh 10 of out-of-bundle airtime you use, or for every Ksh 20 you spend on bundles.
  • Bonga airtime: Safaricom's current Bonga table gives Ksh 30 of airtime for 100 points, valid for 7 days. Points can also go to minutes, data or SMS.
  • Niokolee: ask family or friends for Bonga Points by dialling *126*5#. You get them once they approve the request.

Avoid fake free-airtime offers

Safaricom lists fake promotions and fake Safaricom-branded links among common scams. If a link or forwarded message promises unlimited free airtime, close it. Safaricom's own safety advice covers the rest.

  • Never share your PIN or a one-time code with anyone.
  • Never send money to unlock a prize. Safaricom's promotion terms say it does not ask customers to send airtime or money to award a prize.
  • Be careful with messages from unknown senders saying you have won.
  • Safaricom only calls from 0722000000.
  • Don't dial codes that a caller tells you to dial.
  • Forward fake messages to 333.
